Finding Yourself Through Purpose • Step 6 of 12

Every Situation Has Its Own Sifter — Worksheet

This worksheet helps you slow down automatic judgment and examine one meaningful situation through facts, feelings, fears, desires, patterns, consequences and conscious choice.

Part A — Choose the Situation

What situation are you examining?

Choose something meaningful but manageable: a work decision, disagreement, recurring habit, relationship question, financial choice, belief, expectation, or similar situation.

Part B — Build the Sifter

FACTS

What can I reasonably establish without adding assumptions?

FEELINGS

What am I feeling? Name the feelings without judging them.

FEARS

What am I afraid may happen? What is fear trying to tell me?

DESIRES

What do I want to happen? What do I want to be true?

PATTERNS

What has happened repeatedly? Is this one event or part of a pattern?

CHOICE

After examining everything together, what response do I consciously choose?

Part C — Test the Situation

Is it true? What evidence supports it, and what evidence challenges it?
What does this situation repeatedly produce?
What is fear doing here?
What is ego or identity protecting?
Does this increase my conscious choice or reduce it?
If nobody knew what I previously believed, what would I conclude now?
If I did not want this outcome, would I interpret the evidence the same way?

Part D — Compare Words and Actions

What is being said?
What is repeatedly being done?
Do the words and actions align?

Part E — Let Time Help

Would waiting, sleeping on it, or collecting more information change the quality of this decision?

Part F — Keep • Learn • Release

KEEP

What deserves to remain?

LEARN

What deserves to become wisdom?

RELEASE

What no longer deserves to control the next chapter?

Central Question

What response is most consistent with the person I consciously intend to become?

The goal is not instant certainty. The goal is clearer seeing.
